Mississippi to Nationwide: The Freight Lanes ZR81 Runs

Mississippi sits at a natural freight crossroads. I-20 connects us east to Atlanta and west to Dallas. I-55 runs north to Memphis and Chicago and south to New Orleans. I-59 reaches northeast to Birmingham and beyond. This geography makes Mississippi-based carriers well-positioned for a wide range of freight lanes.

Southeast Corridor

The Southeast — Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida — generates significant freight volume from manufacturing, agriculture, and distribution. Automotive parts from Alabama plants, poultry from Mississippi and Arkansas, citrus from Florida. These are real, consistent lanes that don't disappear when the spot market softens.

Midwest Lanes

Memphis is 200 miles north of Jackson. From Memphis, freight moves into the Midwest — St. Louis, Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus. These are high-volume lanes with strong load-to-truck ratios. Outbound from the Midwest often includes manufactured goods heading back south.

Texas Triangle

Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio form one of the highest-freight-volume regions in the country. From Mississippi, these are accessible via I-20 and I-10. Texas generates significant industrial and consumer freight in both directions.

Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Longer runs to the Northeast — Atlanta to New York, Memphis to Philadelphia — are available for drivers who want miles. These lanes typically pay well but require managing HOS carefully given the distances involved.

Running Nationwide

ZR81 is licensed in all 48 contiguous states. We don't limit owner-operators to regional freight unless that's your preference. If you want to run coast-to-coast, we can find that freight. If you want to stay in the Southeast, we can work with that too.
